Menu bar items are missing or will not move

Snug needs Accessibility to see and arrange your menu bar. Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Accessibility, and turn Snug on. The Menu Bar Layout pane in Snug’s Settings says whether it is on and has a button that opens the right page.

  • It is already on and nothing moves. Remove Snug from that list with the minus button and add it again. An entry left from an earlier copy of Snug never takes effect.
  • Items have vanished. Press the reveal shortcut (⌥⌘S unless you changed it). It always reveals everything that is tucked away.
  • Snug’s own icon is gone. Hiding it is a switch in Settings, then General. Open Snug again from Applications and its Settings window comes back.
  • The trial has ended. Choose Enter License Key from Snug’s menu.

A new Mac

A license covers every Mac signed in to your Apple ID. Install Snug on the new one and enter the same key in Settings, then License. Moving to a different Apple ID? Remove the license in that pane first, then activate the same key under the other Apple ID.

A lost license key

Put the email you used at checkout into Find My License and the key is sent again. If it does not arrive, write to support@snug.menu from that address.

The newest version

Choose Check for Updates… from Snug’s menu. Snug also checks once a day by itself. The release notes say what changed.

Refunds

Fourteen days from purchase, no reason needed. How to ask is on the Refund Policy page.

Removing Snug

Choose Quit Snug from its menu, drag Snug from Applications to the Trash, and delete ~/Library/Application Support/Snug. That folder is everything it kept. You can also remove its entry from Privacy & Security, then Accessibility.
